I’m excited to share with our clients, and any readers who are interested, that Matt Baier Organizing will be participating in the National Association of Professional Organizers – Connecticut chapter’s (NAPO-CT) “Get Organized,” or “GO” Month initiative! Each January our industry’s state-wide organization partners with a charitable foundation to help our efforts, and the efforts of our clients, to make an even greater impact. Getting organized can help not only you, but others in need! We typically suggest donation as an option for items clients may no longer need, but are still in usable condition. Most people are excited to pass their unnecessary belongings along to someone in need. However, it’s not uncommon to hear “will anyone really want this?” The answer is yes!
National Association of Professional Organizers Connecticut: GO Month 2025
This January NAPO-CT has partnered with The Connecticut Humane Society. By donating your unused pet supplies you can help out animals in need by donating to Connecticut’s underprivileged furry friends. Get organized and give back with NAPO-CT’s GO Month initiative!
Give Back: The Connecticut Humane Society
The Connecticut Humane Society was started by a high school student in 1881. It is the oldest and most comprehensive animal welfare organization in the state, serving thousands of pets every year. As an independent nonprofit organization, CHS does not receive any funding from the government and is not associated with any national animal welfare groups. The pets rely solely on the generosity and support of donors and volunteers. This is where you come in!
Get Organized and Give Back with The Connecticut Humane Society
Many of us have a furry family member or two (or three or four or…) who we would do anything for. The benefits of having a pet-child, pet-sibling, pet-companion etc. are innumerable. It is beneficial for our physical health, our mental health, social support, sense of responsibility and purpose- the list goes on. Having a pet is priceless. But it’s certainly not easy or cheap! Unfortunately, this means that many animals end up abandoned, returned, or put up for adoption. The Connecticut Humane Society serves to care for these animals and give them a safe, comfortable and loving home while they seek a permanent home. Additionally, they also offer low-fee veterinary care in an effort to prevent pet rehoming.
How to Give
So how can you help? Well, those garages, kitchens, basements, pantries etc. that you’ve been meaning to organize, but instead avoid- they’re probably home to some unneeded pet supplies! It’s so common for pet owners today to sign up for subscription services like Bark Box, The Farmer’s Dog, or Chewy. And why not? In our busy lives these services are convenient and ensure that our pets never go without. Even without the use of a subscription service, our pets are our family! And it’s not unlikely that we’re guilty of over-purchasing for them every once in a while. Matt Baier Organizing is happy to help with those pesky, stressful areas of your home that you’d prefer to avoid and we’ll take any pet donations that you have to The Connecticut Humane Society. You can start 2025 off on a happy note by clearing out your clutter and simultaneously giving back!
Even if you’re not ready to get organized just yet, there are ways to donate to The Connecticut Humane Society. You can find their wish list here and learn how to donate. You can also make a monetary donation to help them continue to serve pets in need.
