Hi Clutter Guys I have been a big fan of your guy’s podcast for quite a while now. I usually listen to it while decluttering it makes the time go by and I am able to use any hints or tips. My question is how do you tackle non-physical clutter? For example overwhelming amounts of documents and information on your computer?

I’ve listened to a few of your shows while sorting files out tonight and am enjoying them. In one, Marlie Reed made a statement that the cost of keeping a bunch of clothes you aren’t going to wear is much more than going out and buying new ones. I wish you had explained that. I’m left wondering if she meant the emotional cost of not being able to freely hang up your clothes without struggling? (closet conundrum episode).
And on papers… is there any reason to hang onto files of billing etc from a surgery I had 8 years ago?? And if I sold my business (as I did) how long do I need to hang onto my old business files? (proof of insurance etc).
And lastly, I have one of those $25 shredders and it’s still going strong after at least 15 years. I think they’re a great help. It would have taken me forever ripping and tearing. I do have a tip. My bank (and I presume others) provide free shredding for customers.
